My background
I have been working in the area of leading and coaching personal/leadership development programmes and teams for eighteen years within corporate organisations across the world. I am also a freelance Outdoor Instructor with activity centres, working with a range of young people to challenge and learn about themselves and others in outdoor activities. I am one of the management team of Vertigirls, a climbing group in Brighton for women. I run the climbing courses for Vertigirls.
Since I was a child, spending every holiday walking in Scotland, the Lake District or climbing rocks in the South West, I have always had a passion for the outdoors. I am at my most content when undertaking challenges and learning to overcome barriers I put in place, and stretching myself further. I have travelled extensively in the UK and overseas to pursue these. I have just returned from climbing Kilimanjaro. I have undertaken several treks and cycled across countries including Vietnam. I have always been conscious about health and fitness that goes beyond purely building muscle and better cardio function and really focuses on training the body, mind and emotions in a conscious way.
I have recently spent time in the USA, Spain and in the UK (Dartmoor, North Wales) continuing my own learning in the application of outdoor skills.
